GateAway

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 19 July 2026

This document explains how GateAway may be used and what is not allowed. It forms part of the Terms of Service: by accepting the Terms you also accept these rules. They apply to everyone using the service — people who build itineraries, travellers opening a shared link, and visitors browsing the public showcase.

The purpose is not bureaucratic: it keeps the service usable and safe for everyone, and gives us a written rule to apply when something goes wrong, instead of deciding case by case.

1. Account and access

  • You must be at least 18, or the minimum age required to enter a contract in your country.
  • The details you provide at sign-up must be true and current. Registering while pretending to be another person or company is not allowed.
  • Credentials are personal. You are responsible for what happens through your account: keep them safe and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • An account is meant for one person or one business. Reselling, transferring or sharing it to get around plan limits is not allowed.

2. Content you may not upload or publish

This covers itineraries, descriptions, images, attached documents, saved links, emergency contacts and any other text or file. Content is not allowed if it:

  • breaks the law or infringes third-party rights, including copyright, trademarks and image rights (text and photos copied from guidebooks, websites or social media without permission belong here);
  • contains other people's personal data without a valid legal basis, or special category data under Art. 9 GDPR (health, religion, orientation and similar) outside the permitted cases;
  • is defamatory, discriminatory, violent, harassing or incites hatred;
  • is sexually explicit, or involves minors in any way;
  • contains malware, executable scripts or files disguised as documents;
  • is misleading: invented itineraries passed off as real experiences, fake reviews, or unreliable safety and health information presented as verified.

3. Public showcase: what publishers are responsible for

Publishing an itinerary to the showcase makes it visible to anyone and indexable by search engines. Before you publish:

  • you must hold the rights to everything you publish, text and images included;
  • the system removes reserved fields (traveller name, dates, private notes, documents) and warns you if it detects booking data in free text, but the final check is yours: make sure no names, flight numbers, booking references or private addresses are left inside the descriptions;
  • the showcase may not be used as advertising space: content whose only purpose is to promote a business, with the itinerary as a pretext, may be removed.

Anyone importing an itinerary from the showcase receives a copy in their own space: an itinerary is a suggestion, not a guarantee about times, prices, opening hours or the safety of the places involved.

4. Shared links and traveller collaboration

The link you share with travellers contains a secret code: anyone holding it can see the itinerary and, if collaboration is enabled, add entries, tick the packing list and upload files.

  • Share that link only with the people on the trip. Posting it on social media or a web page is the same as making its contents public.
  • Participants must not upload prohibited content (section 2) or other passengers' data without their agreement.
  • You can revoke the link or turn collaboration off at any time from the Share panel.

5. AI-assisted generation

Generating itineraries with AI costs money on every use, and we cover it. It is designed for normal, personal use of the service.

  • Bulk automated generation is not allowed, nor is using the generator as an API for other products.
  • Prompts aimed at producing unlawful content, or containing third parties' personal data, are not allowed.
  • AI output must be checked: it can be wrong about times, distances, prices and opening hours. Treat it as a draft to review, especially before handing it to a client.

6. Prohibited conduct on the service

  • Automated access: bulk collection of content (scraping), unauthorised crawlers, scripts imitating a user. Search engines that respect our robots.txt are the exception.
  • Circumventing limits and controls: plan quotas, AI generation limits, upload limits, access controls, or creating multiple accounts to multiply free features.
  • Attacking or probing security: unauthorised access attempts, load testing, code injection, vulnerability research without our prior written consent.
  • Interfering with the service: deliberately overloading it or disrupting it for other users.
  • Decompiling or reproducing the service to build a competing one, beyond what the law allows.
  • Using the service for spam or unsolicited commercial messages to travellers.

If you find a security problem, contact us before disclosing it: we will respond, and we will not take action against anyone reporting in good faith who has not damaged data or the service.

7. Fair use of resources

Storage, number of trips, file size and AI generations have limits set by your plan. Use that clearly and persistently exceeds normal operation — even within nominal limits — may lead us to contact you to agree a solution and, failing that, to restrict the features concerned.

8. Reporting content or abuse

Every itinerary published in the showcase carries a “Report” link, which opens the reporting form: it asks for the page address, the reason and a way to reach you. Alternatively, write to amministrazione@gateaway.world, stating the page address and the reason.

We review every report we receive. If the content breaks these rules or the law, we remove it or make it inaccessible and inform the person who published it of the decision and its grounds. Where a report concerns a serious offence or a risk to people's safety, we reserve the right to inform the competent authorities.

9. What happens if you break these rules

Depending on severity, repetition and the harm caused, we may:

  • ask you to put things right within a reasonable time;
  • remove or hide the specific content (for example withdraw it from the showcase);
  • temporarily suspend features or the account;
  • close the account in cases of serious or repeated breaches.

Except in urgent cases or where the law requires otherwise, we prefer to warn before acting. If an account is closed for a serious breach, no refund is due for the remaining subscription period; your consumer rights, where applicable, are unaffected.

10. If you disagree with a decision

You can challenge a removal or a suspension by writing to amministrazione@gateaway.world. We will review the case and reply with our reasoning. If the mistake is ours, we restore the content or the access.

11. Before closing your account

If you decide to leave, you can export your data from Settings before deleting. Closing the account removes your trips, uploaded documents and any copies published to the showcase.

12. Changes to this document

We may update these rules to reflect new features or legal obligations. Significant changes will be announced with reasonable notice by email or inside the service; the date at the top always shows the version in force.

For the full picture of your rights and our obligations, see the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
